Zela is the Japanese Mediterranean fusion brainchild of the people behind Tatel restaurant and Ricardo Sanz of the Kabuki restaurant brands. The food offering at Zela uses great eastern ingredients combined with fresh local and seasonal products.

Close to Pacha and the Marina Botafoch yacht port, Zela has a simple, elegant décor tinged with gold and beautiful hand-painted tiles; the walls are alive with nature, with colours of forest green and an overlaying theme of Japanese style. Outside there is a cool terrace with lush vegetation and an open kitchen to watch the sushi chefs in action. There is also a gorgeous private dining room and an excellent cocktail bar.

Open until dawn (06:00), the live music, DJs and perfectly mixed and unusual cocktails make it so much more than just a restaurant.

Head chef Victor Planas uses the freshest ingredients from the Mediterranean and beyond in the menu based upon the one created by Sanz. Classics included in the Zela menu here include butter fish nigiris with truffle; tuna usuzukuri with typical pan con tomate from Ibiza or dim with mini-burgers gently combine Mediterranean and Japanese cuisine.

Zela, with its relaxing atmosphere and smart surroundings is the perfect place to start before moving onto one of the high end attractions of the area - or if the mood takes you, you can easily stay and spend the whole night.
