San José, near Sa Caleta
Closed - Opens on Thursday 21 June 2018
Situated just off the San Jose road, this uniquely set restaurant, with its own cave, offers only the very best natural produce with flavours of the Mediterranean. Music events & shows and top DJs add to the ambience of this charming venue.
Located next to an ancient cave with a depth of 25 metres, Cova Santa can easily boast having one of the most unique settings on the island. As well as the restaurant, Cova Santa puts on night time music events for diners and after the meal is finished you can dance the night away.
The restaurant takes the preparation of its Mediterranean food to a high level and its products are very carefully sourced to be as natural as possible to match its natural surroundings. Its soft, tender and marbled beef comes from the valleys of the Pico National Park, and has an incomparable flavour and texture; the fish is sourced from the best local suppliers, with the kitchen demanding the highest possible standards for the best tasting and freshest supplies; seafood is raised in its own nurseries, with only the best specimens selected for your plate.
You’ll find a great choice of dishes here, with seafood including Ibicenco prawns, lobster and Galician oysters; there’s wild sea bass and wild turbot and the celebrated Angulas de Aguinaga baby eels. On the meat side you’ll find Iberico cuts of pork, including the famous secreto, suckling lamb and of course the Pico beef in the shape of delicious steaks, a tartare and a home-made Cova Santa beef burger.
A haunt of celebrities and with great food and top DJs and music events, Cova Santa is an experience you’ll want to try for yourself.
In September Cova Santa restaurant is only open on Saturdays. Check out their website or FB page for updated details.
